Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom is the original park and the best, even adults will be enthralled by its magic charm. This park is huge. It will take at least 2 days to do it all, and if you have small children it could even take three!
Once parked in the enormous car park remember the row you are on, this will make finding your car easier when leaving. Head for the tram stop at the end of the row, from here you'll be taken by the tram to the transportation centre. After leaving the tram you can either board the monorail or take the ferry across the lake which will take you to the park gates. From here you have to pass though the park security measures and you're in. On entering the park look out for the park maps. Looking down main street USA the first sight you'll get is of Cinderella's Castle which dominates the skyline for miles around. To aviod most of the crowds and queues, instead of heading down main street towards the castle, head for the steam train and take it round to Frontier land at the back of the park. This will allow you to get a couple of the more popular rides done (Big Thunder Mountian and Splash Mountain) before everyone else catches up with you, then head back going against the crowds.
To avoid the long queues, take advantage of the free Disney Fast Pass system which allows you to get a time frame to return to your favourite ride.Once you have this, return to the ride within the time frame on your ticket, join the express line which saves queueing for too long. You can only have one Fast Pass running at a time, but once the time has expired, you can get another one.
Frontierland This is based on the Old Wild West and is the home of Tom Sawyer Island. You will also find 2 of the most popular rides here, Splash Mountain & Big Thunder Mountain. Get a fast pass for one, and go straight away and join the queue for the other one. That way, by the time you've been on the first ride, it should be about time for you to use your fast pass on the second one.
Liberty Square The Liberty Belle Riverboat makes regular trips, and has a large enough capacity to ensure that everyone seems to get on, so leave it for later in the day when the queues build up.
The Haunted Mansion You will find the haunted mansion to the left just down from the Liberty Belle. This is a great ride which is often passed by. The ride is more entertaining than frightening as you travel through the pasages and rooms of this old mansion spotting the gosts and creepy goings on. Watch out for the extra passenger in your car at the end.
Fantasyland This area will appeal more to the younger visitors to the Magic Kingdom. The favourites include; Cinderella's Carrousel, Snow White's Scary Adventures; The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight, and It's a Small World. The kids will love the last ride mentioned. All the caractors are dressed in national costume and sing the same song as you float around the countries of the world. The ride is great fun and I guarantee you'll be humming the small world tune all day! Adventureland Follow the signs for Adventureland. Here you'll find another two very popular rides. The Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise, which takes you in a boat on an animatronic jungle safari. Try the Swiss Family Treehouse, this is good fun, or catch the Enchanted Tiki Room (animatronic) show.
Tomorrowland Heading over to Tomorrowland take a a ride on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority ride. It doesn't usually have queues and you get a good views of the park and also get a peak in to Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear rides. You will also find a couple of popular rides in Tomorrowland. The first is Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. You join Buzz Lightyear and with your laser gun blast the robot army of the evil Emperor Zurg! The second is Space Mountain, this is a fast turning Roller Coasterset in complete darkness. This would be a good time to use your fast pass so that you only have to queue for one of them.
Mickey's Toontown Fair The area is definitely one for the younger visitors to the Magic Kingdom. Here is the place to meet your favourite characters and even take a look round Mickey and Minnie's houses. To save your laegs you could catch the stream railroad and get of at Mickey’s Toontown Fair. The main ride here is the Goofy's Barnstormer, a mini-roller coaster.
Before the park closes there is a firework display in the air above Cinderella's Castle. You can see this from anywhere in the park but the best place is from the park at the top of Main Street.
Have a great day out at the Magic Kingdom
